Data the app accesses
Workflow Linter reads Jira workflow configuration through Jira's workflow search APIs. Responses may include workflow, status, and transition identifiers and names; workflow scope; status categories; transition links; and rule metadata exposed by those APIs.
The app does not request issue bodies, comments, attachments, user email addresses, customer files, browser history, or payment-card data.
Data the app stores
The app stores one bounded latest report, the latest scan status, and up to 500 finding-suppression identifiers in installation-scoped Atlassian Forge storage. A report can contain workflow, status, and transition names because those names are needed to explain findings. Older successful reports are replaced rather than accumulated.
Processing and sharing
Analysis runs inside Atlassian Forge. The app declares no external network egress and does not send Jira configuration data to the developer, an analytics vendor, an advertising network, or an AI provider. Atlassian processes hosting, licensing, billing, and platform telemetry under its own terms.
Purpose and legal role
Workflow Linter processes Jira workflow configuration solely to provide scans, findings, exports, diagnostics, and preferences requested by the installing customer. For GDPR purposes, the customer is generally the controller of its Jira data and Workflow Linter acts as a processor for the limited information described above.
Retention and deletion
The app retains only the current bounded report and preferences while installed. Uninstalling the app starts Atlassian's platform-controlled app-storage lifecycle. Customers can also request privacy assistance through the contact below.
Security and access
Jira authorization and Forge installation isolation control access. The app requests only the scopes described on our security page and is read-only with respect to Jira workflow configuration.
